About Nina Cassian
Nina Cassian (1924—2014) was born in Galati, Romania, and published more than fifty books. She was a poet, composer, journalist, film critic, and translator of Shakespeare, Bertolt Brecht, Christian Morgenstern, Iannis Ritsos, Paul Celan, and others. Her poems appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, New England Review, and American Poetry Review.
