About James Harpur
James Harpur has published four volumes of poetry with Anvil Press, including his latest, The Dark Age, winner of the 2009 Michael Hartnett Award. Anvil have also published his translation of the poems of Boethius, Fortune’s Prisoner. In 2001 James was poet in residence at Exeter Cathedral in the west of England, where he was inspired by the presence of the Anglo-Saxon Exeter Book, kept in the cathedral library.
